One of the highlights of our months staying in Jacksonville was being right in the center of the Republican Primaries. As everyone knows, Nick and I are big political junkies, and we are training up our children young. While in Jacksonville we went to the Romney rallies, rubbed shoulders with the campaign staffers, (One guy gave us ten bucks and told us to buy our kids some ice cream on Romney. I suppose he knew we'd be donating that ten times over by the end of the campaign!) and shouted "we are the one percent" in response to the occupy wallstreet protesters who marched and chanted outside of the Florida debate sight. (Well, only Nick was brave enough to shout, but it was a prettty good laugh. The other one-percentors were so impressed they choose us to be the ones photographed for the daily newspaper.)
After attending several events, we finally got there early enough to get the chance to shake hands with Romney himself. When he becomes our next United States President on November 6th, the kids will be able to say they've shaken his hand! Awesome!
