Well, school is long since out, but I needed some incentive to keep my kids reading during the summer vacation. Madison would read whether you bribed her or not, but Spencer and Emma needed a little more nudging. So, I copied the Sylvan Learning Center model and came up with a summer prize wall. They get a token for every five minutes they read, and they can redeem tokens (1 token for $1.00) whenever they are ready. They have been at it for two weeks now, and since they are all ready to redeem I figured I had better get on with snapping a prize wall photo before it was too much depleted from all their shopping.
Whatever isn't earned by the first day of school gets put away for another day. Good luck kids! Keep up the good reading!
