Off to Neverland!

While most of our historical sight-seeing on this trip is landing on the home school blog, we did take a break from school field trips one evening and treat the kids to a one of a kind rendition of Peter Pan at Boston's ThreeSixty Theater. The whole experience was a great adventure and made us all never want to grow up. This production of Peter Pan is housed in a large, circus-looking tent that sits right in the middle of down-town Boston.  Inside the tent is a state of the art theater set "in the round."  This theater set is the world's first 360-degree computer generated imagery set, creating one of a kind audio visual affects for the audience.  For example, when Peter and the Darling children take flight towards the infamous Neverland, the whole room takes flight with them.  Somehow the projections on the inside of the tent make the audience feel as though the buildings and clouds are underneath them as well.  Our children were simply memorized by the experience.  And though the play version of Peter Pan is slightly different than the familiar Disney version, the kids didn't seem to mind at all.  They were sucked into the story, and at one point, during intermission, Emma even ventured from her chair while no one was watching.  Before we realized she was gone she was already down onto the stage.  She was ready to jump right into all of the fun--quite literally.  We originally debated on whether to spend the extra money on this evening out, but the ThreeSixty experience did not disappoint.  Here we are at the show.
